"A Pleasant Stay"

by Prakashkk (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) on 16/09/2017 -

We loved :

1) the Great room

2)Super-helpful concierge

a) very detailed information for the places to go

b) helped to arrange tickets at tourist sites, etc

c) adviced on proper attire for the palace (in light of the mourning period for the late King)

3) Very good club floor

a) very helpful staff

b) evening tea was fantastic

4) Medical assistance was great. My daughter had a bad scrape and they came to the room and carried out a very quick and professional first aid.

5) Connectivity. Brilliant hotel location such that there is a sheltered walkway all the way to the station and thereafter to another mail.

Areas Which Can Be Improved:

Food

a) Very very limited choices of food for vegetarians at the restaurant. They might as well have said, "vegetarians not welcome"

b) even for breakfast, requests regarding vegetarian food is usually filled with errors. This happened twice at breakfast in the main restaurant. We gave up and went to the club lounge.

c) Long waiting time in the breakfast place ( over 40 minutes ). On one day, one order finally arrived almost 40 minutes and this after i threw a fuss...something I have never done at breakfast

d) however if you do not rely on hotel options for food, it's ok as there are options in the vicinity and on the way to the station  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

"Homey and relaxing"

by 471wilsonl on 12/09/2017 -

Okura Prestige is right next to Phloen Chit BTS station which is opposite from the new Park Hyatt. I naturally compared the 2 hotels because of its similar location and the clientele they attract. While Park Hyatt appeals to a hipper and design oriented audience, Okura offers a warmer and cozier decor which warrants its own fans. The infinity pool is on a higher level and is quite magnificent.

Breakfast is also impressive and the hostess recommended me the sautéed mushrooms omelette with green fraiche and truffle oil. It indeed was an excellent and tasty choice!

Tried their Japanese restaurant for lunch and you need not doubt their professionalism being run by a Japanese hospitality chain.

I stayed in one of their suites and just could not resist their humongous deep soaking bathtub. It can fit 2 or even 3 persons! On one night I actually went out to buy a bottle of bubble baths and gave myself a treat. Also their Harnn amenities available for suite guests are also a treat. Thai aromatherapy products are world renowned, hence it is smart for a hotel to partner with a famed local brand to develop a smell that will lure guests back. For that reason alone I would definitely return to Okura Prestige again. Keep up the good work!  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

"A Good Family Hotel in Bangkok"

by TonyWOng (Hong Kong, China) on 10/09/2017 -

The three of us stayed in a Corner Deluxe room. Overall, we enjoyed it.

The Pros:

- Convenient location. It's right next to a Phloen Chit Skytrain station, so easy to get around. There are 2 dept stores near it, Central Embassy (high end) and Central Chitlom, where you can find good restaurants and shops.

- Nice room. The room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable and the boy got his own extra bed which we asked the hotel to set up in advance. Everything worked just fine and it's rather quiet at night (perhaps because our room was in the corner)

- Friendly staff, especially the concierge people at the entrance.

- There is a coffee place on the ground floor next to the hotel which serves good breakfast.

The Cons:

- The reception is on the 24th Floor, which means the guests need to change elevators to get to the rooms.

- Some taxi drivers did not know the hotel and we got refused by a few of them when we were making our way back from other parts of town. Perhaps it would help if we brought with us the hotel taxi card.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

"Club rooms fabulous"

by MozReliefWorkers (Mozambique) on 10/09/2017 -

Stayed here for a week for work. Wonderful location. The service in the club rooms was fabulous. Enjoyed the club lounge for cocktails as we were able to make it. The breakfast was fantastic, especially the French toast. Variety was amazing. Pool is very pleasant.

Strongly recommend.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Outstanding hotel in Bangkok

I spend just a day in the Okura Prestige Bangkok and really was a great experience. Very nice room, really very polite and warm staff, and very fine lunch and dinner.

I strongly recommend this hotel in Bangkok.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Great place to stay

This was my second time staying at the Okura. It is a luxurious place to stay and enjoy Bangkok. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the room service is excellent. They have a great gym with a vie to the city. The hotel serves an elaborate breakfast that includes Asian cultural tastes and European too. I would highly recommend it!  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • full marks hotel

I have been travelling around the world and this is the best hotel I have ever stayed. The service is great. First, when I got off the taxi at the business building next to the hotel, the bell boy came and grab my luggage and help me to get to the hotel. It impressed me and they are so friendly. The front desk is helpful and cheerful. The housekeeping is great, they come to my room twice each day. The gym room is clean and the staffs are so thoughtful. When I was running, they came and gave me the towel!! The breakfast is super good, there are so many choices and the staffs are all friendly. Of course the food tastes good.

Thank you!! I spend a great time in Bangkok and i will stay in Okura hotel for my next trip.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Luxury and enjoyable stay

First time to experience The Okura Prestige Bangkok for my buddy trip with my friend in late August 2017. The perfect location makes us easy to do everything in central Bangkok and the Central embassy shopping mall is located just across the street and easy to get access to siam through BTS skytrain from the hotel. We got a warm welcome from the concierge and the front desk and we chose to stay in corner room with bigger room which was a wise choice to choose to upgrade as really worth to enjoy a bigger room in such a nice luxury hotel.

The breakfast was really delicious and with variety of western and asian style cuisines to choose in the buffet, the egg dishes are freshly made by order and especially enjoy the egg white omlette dishes.

To conclude, it is worth to try even the price is a little bit higher than the other luxury hotels in Bangkok.

Ps: Just a little comment for the way to access the hotel at night, the escalator connecting the BTS Phloen Chit station and the hotel entrance only operate until 8pm, it would be better to operate even more late night as some guests would be bothersome if they come back to hotel from BTS skytrain at night.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Burp-dae

Booked Elements for dinner at 8pm, however we arrived 45mins early & was directed to our table. After going thru the menu, we ordered the Ponzu-Tobiko-Lime Oysters, Lobster Bisque with Cognac, White Asparagus, Steamed Cod with Sake & Sea Bream. From the appetizer to soup & the main course, must say we were delighted in every possible way! After which, we decided to have the Grilled Peach( as recommended by our server) & Valhorna Choc for desserts.. & fell in love with the Peach! it was a wonderful evening as I celebrated my partner's 41st bday. Totally unforgettable evening as the host and server sang him the bday song. The entire dining experience is well paced & fabulous ambience!  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Feels like staying in Japan home

My first experience in Okura hotel, perfect service and Japanese design room. We spent most of the in the pool at 25th floor, great city view and for sun bathing. Can't wait to try the Japanese restaurant. If u want to try something new or some special brand hotel, here is your choice!  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Should be rated higher!!!

The Okura Prestige very well may have been the best hotel i ever stayed at. The hotel overall is beautiful and smells of lavender from their lobby garden. The staff is unbelievably helpful. Just to give a small idea of how efficient the concierge is, they got us a table with one day notice to Gaggan the 5 star indian restaurant with a five star chef that currently has a 4 month waiting list! The pool truly is in the middle of Bangkok and you get a sense of Bangkok street life just from looking over at the city. I didn't personally go to the gym, but someone traveling with me told me that it was clean and had all the necessary gym equipment for a full workout. Directly connected by an covered tunnel, there is a passage to the BTS Skytrain to get around the city and taxis can be hailed from the entrance immediately. The rooms are large and beautifully designed. I would definitely recommend a deluxe corner room. The room service was so polite and left free bottles of water and new applications of fresh fruit for us when we returned each night. With breakfast, I prefer the global over traditional japanese but one may try both if they want to. Finally, there are fresh green tea leaves that can be made into astoundingly good green tea. Our overall Okura experience was like no other and I would recommend it for your stay in Bangkok  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Happy Stay at The Okura Prestige Bangkok

We have had a lovely stay at The Okura Prestige Bangkok. The hotel is nice, quiet and the interior design makes you feel like being at home. The staff are so attentive with smiling faces. The coffee shop serves very good breakfast and the service is superb. Highly recommend this hotel to other people.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • 5 star luxury

This ultra modern hotel oozes luxury. Beautiful foyer area, exceptional infinity swimming pool overlooking Bangkok and a delicious array of food options for breakfast. Very close to train system and across the road from the new Central Embassy Shopping centre. Highly recommended.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Impressive Zen hotel

Apart from the heat all the atmosphere and the food is very impressive and delicious. The staffs are very well manner and good services. It located in the center of Bangkok business area. The afternoon tea set is also their signature and all facilities are well manage.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • No disappointment

Another visit again, everything is still as good as before. Leisure stay for lazy traveler as me with convenient location, right next to BTS is one of my main consideration, easy connection to anywhere along to BTS or metro. One little thing for improvement, the signals of CNN n BBC were always struck. Comfortable stay again with no doubt. Thanks n keep it up. Will be back for sure.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Top notch hotel

Conveniently located near a BTS stop, the Okura Prestige exudes luxury in an understated Japanese manner. Large rooms with sliding partitions around the bathroom - open them up and brush your teeth while gazing out at the Bangkok skyline.

Their buffet breakfast offers one of the most extensive spreads I've ever seen with an abundant array of both Asian and Western selections. Eggs to order include eggs benedict. Notable was the various yogurt choices with various fruit blends.

One Asian quirk is the toilet is in a separate enclosure apart from the bathroom shower area. But then there are heated toilet seats and a typical selection of bidet cleaning options.

Of course the 'hanging 'ledge' swimming pool is a signature feature of this hotel. One reviewer commented the dark color pool 'flooring' was disconcerting. I didn't find that the case. The tile seams acted as convenient lane markers for those swimming laps.

All in all, a superb hotel.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • A real 5-star experience!

I stayed at a 5-star hotel in Vancouver a few months prior and was pretty disappointed with the whole experience. It felt the same as any 4-star hotel, and I was a little unsure of how the Okura Prestige would compare, but decided to give it a chance. The Okura definitely delivered.

The decor and grandeur of the lobby, with a lavender garden inside, was pretty much expected from a 5-star hotel, but I found it was all the little things that really won me over. The amount of automation (eg. didn't need to hang a sign on the door to indicate Do Not Disturb, just a quick button at your bedside), fruit in room on arrival, comfy slippers, an abundance of outlets, adapters readily available, robes for shower, robes for lounging, excellent shower and soaker tub, and the list goes on.

The infinity pool was lovely, and service everywhere in the hotel was always on point. When we were heading out, they ordered us a cab quickly, ensured it was metered, and sent us on our merry way.

Overall, I'm very glad I stayed at the Okura, so I now know what I should really expect from a 5 star hotel. Worth every penny and I would go again in a heartbeat!  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

  • Ken & Kusen Visit Aug 2017

  • Absolutelly amazing

One of the best hotels in the world, even better then burj al arab in Dubai which wants to be the only 7 star hotel in the world. The hotel is based in the area of the embassies and therefore in an area we felt very safe. The people who works there are very friendly. The breakfast is great and offers all you think about having. The room is very modern and the kimono they have on each room is super comfortable, def worth trying. What we really loved is the smell in the hotel, this citrusgras makes you really feel like beeing in asia in a great hotel to relax. The pool is also amazing and let you forget that you are in a huge city in asia. It was def the place to be forus and even our 3 years old daughter was enjoying the stay very.  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com

The location was very convenient, very close to the Train and public transport. The hotel staff were very accommodating and quick to assist after a 16 hour flight. We booked 2 rooms for summer vacation. And made request to be on the same floor in advanced, and yes, the email with Okura is with quick response. And could be arranged.

  • Fabulous 4 days at the Okura.....

We stayed at the Okura as a family of 5 adults for 4 nights in 3 club rooms. After arriving in Bangkok airport after 18 hours of traveling, we were whisked off to the hotel in one of the Okura's lovely minivans that we booked through the hotel. On arrival, all our bags were taken care of and we were welcomed into the club lounge with a welcome drink and cold towels. We arrived early, at around 10am, and were offered breakfast in the lounge and two of the three rooms were ready for us to check into, which was unexpected and much appreciated.

Throughout our stay, the staff in the hotel were exceptional. The staff in the club lounge could not do enough for us and the quality of the food and drinks; breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks and canapes were wonderful. The views from the club lounge were breathtaking.

Our rooms were beautifully appointed and overlooked the pool. The beds were huge and very comfortable. We loved having the complementary soft drinks and beer in the mini fridge and all other snacks were very well priced.

We had breakfast and dinner in the up and above restaurant, and all meals were of superb quality. The choice of food at breakfast was outstanding and catered for all. The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome.

We used the pool in the day and evening, which was amazing. Towels were provided and it was not overcrowded. The rest of the hotel was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. We also found the location of the hotel to be very convenient for Central Embassy, which has some lovely food and drink establishments.

We have stayed in a lot of high end hotels and the Okura is without doubt the best hotel we have experienced. If you are thinking about booking this hotel, don't think, just book, and you will not be disappointed!  Read more: www.tripadvisor.com
