One for the Boys! Tango no Sekku Festival at Yamazato Restaurant

Boys festival

To celebrate the traditional Japanese “Tango no Sekku”, Boy’s Festival, Yamazato is offering special Gozen lunch and Kaiseki dinner menus throughout May. The Gozen lunch features two platters comprising starter, soup, assorted sashimi and dessert, while the Kaiseki dinner menu constitutes an 8-dish feast. Stand-out items include traditional Tai Kabutoni, sea bream specially simmered in a thick soy sauce, a special dish of simmered egg custard with ginko nuts and tofu skin, and a dessert of Kashiwa mochi rice cakes filled with red bean jam and wrapped in oak leaves. In addition, every lunch time on Fridays and Saturdays, Yamazato’s staff will teach patrons how to make origami kanuto samurai hats at the sushi bar!
