An Early Taste of Summer at MICHELIN Plate Yamazato Restaurant
To celebrate the arrival of summer, Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara at our award-winning signature Japanese restaurant is laying on authentic seasonal tastes of Japan with special Early Summer Gozen lunch platters and a multi-course Kaiseki dinner.
Highlight ingredients include royal fern, sweet fish and pike eel. Known as Hamo in Japan, pike eel is considered a summer treat, particularly in the Kansai region where it is popular for its flavour and nutritious energy-giving properties. Offerings such as tempura of snow crab, pike eel, asparagus, pumpkin and elingi mushroom and a fabulous dish of grilled Spanish mackerel with tomato miso sauce on the Kaiseki dinner are true seasonal highlights.
