Celebrate Japan’s Traditional Boys’ Festival at Yamazato

Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara and his team at Yamazato, our MICHELIN Plate restaurant, celebrate Tango no Sekku — the annual traditional Japanese festival that honours boys and young men — with special Gozen lunch platters and a spectacular multi-course Kaiseki dinner featuring seasonal specialities such as sea bream. The first Gozen lunch platter opens with an appetizer of smoked salmon with shrimp and a selection of succulent sashimi. The second platter offers tempura and a standout dish of grilled striped jack with butterbur and miso. Highlight of the multi-course Kaiseki dinner is a simmered dish of sea bream, bamboo shoot and butterbur. Dessert is a selection of refreshing fruits and mochi wrapped in oak leaf.
