New Year Jubako Boxes of Osechi Ryori at Yamazato
Honour Japanese New Year traditions with Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara’s jubako boxes of Osechi Ryori, only 30 sets are available. The tradition dates back to the Heian period and is still observed today. Each item is carefully chosen to symbolise good health, fertility, happiness and a long life. Delights include simmered vegetables, which bring the family together and build strong bonds, simmered prawn as a charm against bad luck, grilled yellowtail with yuzu sauce for an auspicious New Year, steamed cod fish cakes, which symbolise celebration and festivity, grilled scallop with torched egg yolk sauce, which make good wishes come true, sushi of dried persimmon with egg yolk sauce as a symbol of longevity and happiness, and numerous other fabulous delicacies.
